In short. Merakly has not launched yet. The only personal information we collect through this website is what you choose to give us on the early-access form, and we use it for one purpose: to contact you about Merakly and to decide what to stock and where to deliver first. We do not sell it, we do not share it for marketing, and this website runs no analytics or advertising.

Merakly is currently a UK-based pre-incorporation project. Until a UK company is formed, the founders of the project jointly decide how the personal information described in this notice is used and act as its controllers.

2. What this notice covers
This notice covers information collected through this website while Merakly is pre-launch. It does not yet cover orders, payments or deliveries, because we are not yet selling anything. When we open, we will publish a fuller notice covering customers, recipients and fulfilment, and we will tell anyone already on our early-access list before that happens.
3. What we collect
Only what you type into the early-access form:

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, payment details, identity documents, or health, religious or other special category information. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
4. Information about other people
Some of what we ask relates to the person you support rather than to you — for example the area of Nigeria they live in, or a description of what you would like to send them. Please share only what is needed to answer the question, and please do not include another person's full address, phone number or personal circumstances at this stage. We treat anything you do share about a third party with the same care as your own information, and we use it only for the purposes set out above.
5. Our lawful basis
We rely on your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You give it by ticking the box on the early-access form. You can withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it. There is no obligation to join, and nothing else on this website depends on it.
6. How long we keep it
Until whichever happens first: you ask us to delete it, you unsubscribe, or 24 months pass without you engaging with us. After that we delete it. If you withdraw consent we remove you promptly, keeping only a minimal record of the withdrawal itself so that we do not contact you again by mistake.
7. Who has access to it
The founders of Merakly and Cloudflare, which provides this website, its automated verification check and the database used to receive and store form submissions. Cloudflare acts as our service provider and processor. We do not sell your information, share it with advertisers, or pass it to our suppliers or delivery partners.
8. Where it is held
Our form database is configured with Western Europe as its primary location. Cloudflare operates a global network, so limited technical processing may also take place outside the UK. Where personal information is transferred internationally, we rely on the safeguards provided in our agreement with Cloudflare and applicable data protection law. If information later becomes accessible to our operations in Nigeria, we will update this notice and put an appropriate transfer safeguard in place.
9. Cookies and tracking
This website runs no analytics and uses no advertising pixels or cross-site advertising trackers. It uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a third-party security service, to distinguish people from automated submissions and prevent abuse of the early-access form. Turnstile performs limited technical processing when the form is shown or submitted. We do not use it for advertising. If we later add non-essential cookies or analytics, we will update this notice and ask for consent where the law requires it.
10. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- have it corrected if it is wrong;
- have it deleted;
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our using it;
- receive it in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time.
Email hello@merakly.co.uk and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.
11. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
12. Changes to this notice
If we change this notice we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant — particularly when we launch and begin handling orders — we will email everyone on the early-access list rather than relying on you to notice.
